TCL 30 SE Design

As befits an affordable smartphone, the TCL 30 SE comes with a good plastic casing and a basic, subdued appearance. It’s nothing extraordinary; it’s straightforward yet elegant.

A triple primary camera with a flash is located in the top left corner. The modules are mounted on a tiny matte rough plastic pedestal. A fingerprint scanner is positioned next to the camera unit, a brand logo has been added to the bottom right corner, and a technical marking is added to the left corner, which is barely visible from certain angles.

Around 82.5 per cent of the front panel is devoted to the display. The bezels are fairly substantial, with a colossal chin. The selfie camera is located in a teardrop-shaped notch on the front. The smartphone weighs an average of 190 g and has dimensions of 165.2 x 75.5 x 8.9 mm. The TCL 30 SE feels comfortable in the hand and does not slide due to the matte edges. The smartphone and its 6.52-inch screen are too large to operate with one hand comfortably. However, the primary parts, like the fingerprint scanner and control buttons, are conveniently located and simple to operate.

The phone supports VoLTE and VoWiFi and is available in single- and dual-SIM configurations. Wi-Fi 4, Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC are all supported. The TCL 30 SE runs Android 12 and comes with its own TCL UI 4.0 shell. The user interface is fairly good, though unremarkable.

The back camera is identical to that found on the TCL 30 devices but are more expensive. It has a 50-megapixel main camera with an aperture of f/1.85. The other sensors are irrelevant and are included just to bolster the numbers; they are two-megapixel macro and two-megapixel depth sensors. With an 80.6° field of vision, the 8MP selfie camera is comparable to the TCL 30. Both cameras are capable of recording in 1080p at 30 frames per second.
