Vivo Y77e 5G Design
There is no question that the design of the brand-new Vivo Y77e is the standout feature of the device. It has the appearance of a high-end smartphone owing to the slick rear cover and the flat bevelled edges. The flat edge design provides a firm grip and comfortable single-handed usage. The phone’s water drop notch design makes it a decent budget option. Turning the phone around, we see a camera layout that echoes previous choices by Vivo. A large rectangle with two sizable cuts outs is present.
Although there is an OLED panel on the front, Vivo has chosen a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for this device. The overall weight of the Vivo Y77e 5G is 194 grams and it seems to be distributed evenly across the device.
Vivo Y77e 5G Display
The screen on the Vivo Y77e is a dazzling 6.58 inches in size and it has a Full HD+ OLED display with a refresh rate of 60 hertz and a touch sampling rate of 180 hertz. At this price point, the OLED display is a fantastic addition to this smartphone, which already has a lot of great features. Nevertheless, it would have been a great step for Vivo to add a 90Hz refresh rate to the display of the Vivo Y77e, but the company has regretfully gone over this opportunity.
Vivo Y77e 5G Performance
It’s a tamer alternative to the Vivo Y77, which was only available in China with a MediaTek Dimensity 930 chipset. There’s a Dimensity 810 SoC within the Vivo Y77e. Even though it isn’t the most sophisticated chipset, it is demonstrably superior to the Dimensity 700 series, which is still widely used in budget smartphones as late as 2022.
In addition to the octa-core chipset manufactured at 6 nm, the Vivo y77e 5G is offered in three different memory capacities. The RAM capacity goes from 6GB to 8GB and the internal storage goes from 128 GB to 256GB. The smartphone also contains a slot for microSD cards, which allows the user to expand the phone’s storage capacity by up to one terabyte.
The most recent version of Vivo’s operating system, which is called OriginOS Ocean and is based on Android 12, comes pre-installed on the Vivo Y77e 5G. This operating system offers a user experience that is organized and uncluttered.
Vivo Y77e 5G Camera
The Vivo Y77e 5G’s optics on the rear side is handled by a dual camera configuration that includes the main sensor that has a resolution of 13 megapixels and an aperture of f/2.2. Additionally, there is a secondary sensor that has a resolution of 2 megapixels and an aperture of f/2.4. A sensor with an 8-megapixel resolution and an aperture of f/2.0 can be found on the front of the device, making it suitable for taking selfies and participating in video calls. The camera module offers a wide variety of shooting modes, including super HDR, slow motion, live photo, panoramic, and super night mode, among others.
The Vivo Y77e 5G’s camera arrangement falls short, especially considering the lack of an ultra-wide lens and the absence of 16-megapixel front-facing camera that is common in this price range.
Vivo Y77e 5G Battery
The phone features a battery with a capacity of 5,000 mAh that can be recharged using an 18-watt charging system. Although the battery capacity is good and you’ll be able to get a power backup of at least one and a half days on normal usage, there should have been a 33W fast charger included with the device. Looking at the devices under the 15k price tag, there are multiple options available with 33w fast charging along with a 5000 mAh battery.
Vivo Y77e 5G Verdict
The inclusion of an OLED display, which is a fantastic upgrade for a smartphone at this price range, is one of the highlights of the Vivo Y77e 5G. Additionally, the performance of the device is commensurate with the hardware configuration that it ships with, and the battery life is respectable. However, the device’s lack of a fast refresh rate and other flaws render it obsolete.
