Without wasting any time, let’s move ahead and have a look at all the measures which we can adapt to manage screen time like a pro.
Method 1: Set Screen Time Limits from Settings
The best way to manage your screen time like a pro is to set up limits for the most used applications. Google has recently introduced a new feature named “Digital Wellbeing.” This is compatible with smartphones running on Android Pie and upwards. Using this feature, you can easily restrict your certain app usage.
Popular brands like Samsung, Realme, and Redmi are running Android Pie and other above versions and most of the new smartphone users won’t face a problem in getting this feature. And even if the feature i not available you can download it from the Google Play Store.
To access this feature you need to:
- Go to the Settings of your phone first, look for “Digital Wellbeing” section and select it.
- Now, choose a timer for each app as per your wish (from 5 minutes to 24hrs.) When you exceed your previously set time limit, your access to the app automatically gets restricted. But that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to use it again. Yes, you can change your set limit whenever you want.
Note: Even iPhone users can also avail of this screen timer limit as iOS devices also allow setting a per-app time limit.
Method 2: Stop Taking Your Phone to Bed
Here comes the biggest ‘No-No’ of the tech world- you can’t take technology to your bed. Most of us are habituated to using phones, laptops, tablets before bedtime. Doing so impacts our health tremendously. The artificial light especially blue light emitted from our phone or laptop’s screen is extremely harmful to our sleep quality. Plus, deficiency of sleep leads to major health issues.
So, if you have a habit of scrolling through your Instagram feed before sleeping, it’s time to replace your phone with a book and grow a habit of reading before sleeping.

Method 5: Consider Some Off-Screen Hobbies
Why not use off-screen hobbies when you wish to manage the screen time on a mobile phone like a pro. All you need to do is just consider any of your hobbies. For example, if you are fond of playing the guitar, then learn something new every day.
When you start using it regularly, it will not only polish your skills, but you will be able to manage the screen time on the mobile phone as well. There will be no need for you to keep your phone with you every time. You can simply take your guitar and play it. Not only guitar, if you are fond of any other hobby like singing, dancing, or anything, then also you can engage in it and cut out the screen time.
Method 6: Keep Your Phone Out of Sight
Keeping it out of sight is the method with which a person can adapt without any trouble. If you feel like that in the coming hours, there are no important calls that are expected, then keep it out of sight. Keep it in your cupboard or on your desk or on charging. This totally depends on where you wish to keep it.
If you are at the place where your mobile is right in front, you cannot stop yourself from using it. Hence, to cut it out, all you need to do is just keep it out of your sight. The more you keep it out of your sight, the longer you will be able to manage the screen time.
