LG W31 sports a plastic frame with a plastic back. The back gives off shiny looks akin to a phone with a glass back. On the back, we have a triple camera setup, the LED flash and the fingerprint scanner to go with it while on the front we have a glass-based screen with a teardrop-shaped notch for the front camera. The volume buttons and the power button are placed on the right side of the device while there is a dedicated Google Assistant button on the left side of the device. There is a teardrop-shaped notch to house the front camera within the screen. There is some significant bezel on the top and the bottom of the screen which gives the smartphone a very budget oriented look.
The brains behind the LG W31 is a Mediatek Helio P22 which is an 12nm processor with clock speeds up to 2.0GHz. The phone comes in with single memory and storage variant of 4GB and 64GB respectively. The storage can be expanded via the dedicated microSD card slot provided up to 512GB of external storage.
LG W31 runs on the latest Android 10. There are no skins whatsoever which will give a near stock feel to the Android OS in this phone. Also, there is an option to use Face unlock along with the Fingerprint unlock as well.
LG W31 has a triple camera setup on the back and a single camera at front of the device. The triple camera setup includes a 13MP main sensor with PDAF, a 5MP sensor for ultra-wide shots, and another 2MP sensor for depth effect. The camera has HDR enabled and uses an LED flash for lighting up the shots. The video output via the rear camera is rated at 1080p at 30fps. The front camera on the other hand includes a single 8MP wide sensor with video output rated at 1080p at 30fps which is the same as the rear camera.
The battery which powers the LG W31 is a big 4000 mAh Li-Po battery. LG has not made any claims of the W31 having any fast-charging capabilities.
LG W31 is a great phone for those who are budget conscious and need a good amount of performance for the price they will pay. The specifications of the LG W31 are enough to get the job done and the battery is enough to make the device last almost a day in a single charge. The stock Android and the expandable storage is a plus too. In conclusion, the LG W31 is a good smartphone with some tiny flaws of its own which don’t seem much if the device itself will fit one’s use.
