Starting with the build quality, Moto G9 Power has been manufactured with the same plastic material as in other smartphones belonging to this line-up. The display size is almost same as in Moto G9 Plus along with same punch hole provided at the top left corner but slightly larger. The additional feature in terms of design is that the body is water repellent.
Now as far as the fingerprint sensor is concerned, in Moto G9 Plus we had seen a shift from the rear-mounted sensor to the side-mounted one, but in this Motorola Moto G9 Power, the side-mounted fingerprint sensor has been omitted and replaced with the rear-mounted one as in Moto G9 Play. The rear side comes with the same Square shaped module housing the camera setup.
The overall weight of Moto G9 Power is 221 gram and the thickness is 9.66mm owing to the 6000 mAh huge battery under the hood. There is a button provided on the left side for Google assistance along with the SIM tray. The Type-C charging port and 3.5mm headphone jack have been retained. Overall, there are no significant changes in the design and it has been kept as optimum as possible considering the price range of Moto G9 Power.
The Moto G9 Power comes with a large 6.8-inch Max Vision display, making it the largest smartphone from the brand. The technology that has been used while designing the display is IPS. Although the smartphone screen is big, it comes at the cost of resolution. Yes, the 720P display is something that you can call a downfall for Moto G9 Power. The other features included are an Aspect ratio of 20.5:9, 87.2% Active Area-Touch Panel and a pixel density of 264PPI.
Although we were expecting Motorola Moto G9 Power to be 5G enabled, the case is not so. It doesn’t feature 5G connectivity. Also, Moto G9 Power has been stuffed with a less powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset, which is available in the Moto G9 Play also. The chipset comes along with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, with storage expansion up to 512GB. While the expectations were to have Moto G9 Power with Android 11, but you will be getting the same Android 10, seen in earlier devices also. This is not bad at all.
The budget range device from Motorola has been stuffed with a triple rear camera setup, featuring 64MP main camera, 2MP depth sensor and the third one which is a 2MP Macro lens. Speaking about the punch-hole on the front side, it’s housing a 16MP selfie camera. Although Motorola has kept the camera department quite solid as per the price range it is available at, but it is by no means the impressive one.
Motorola has introduced the first 6000 mAh battery in Motorola Moto G9 Power, making this device the first one from the brand to feature such a huge battery. The huge shift from 5000 mAh to 6000 mAh is something that Motorola is exhibiting through this device. Although the problem with huge batteries is that it takes quite a lot of time for making the necessary refill, the smartphone brand has included the Moto G9 Power with 20W fast charging for recharging your battery within no time. The battery department of Moto G9 Power has seen a welcome development in the G9 lineup.
Big batteries are always attractive, and Motorola has taken this thing by heart and come up with a new smartphone featuring 6000 mAh battery. Apart from the battery, Motorola Moto G9 Power has got a decent camera setup, an average processor and a large display. It could have been a value for money if the resolution and processor would not have seen a setback. But still, it is not a bad deal at all.
