During its early access period itself, certain BGMI players who had played the PUBG Mobile Livic Map could transfer their data between the games. This data transfer from the game version that was banned in India last year was halted from July 6, 2021. Now, the game makers are offering a last chance of sorts to players who would like to transfer their data.

However, as mentioned before, this will be limited to players who had played the Livik map in PUBG Mobile. Krafton took to their official Facebook handle to state that, “In order to ensure a more smooth gameplay for players who had used PUBG MOBILE Nordic Map: Livik (“Prior App”) before, BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA (“New App”) will transfer some of the data from the Prior App account to the New App. We would like to remind you that data transfers will be available until Dec 31, 2021.”

As we all know, PUBG Mobile was banned in India last year itself. Ever since, Krafton has been extra cautious about not getting anything wrong. Multiple reports believed that Battlegrounds Mobile India would get banned as well. That has definitely not been the case as the game makers have been constantly trying to detach BGMI from its banned moniker as much as possible. Now, this seems like another step towards further legally breaking the connection between the two.
