Xiaomi 12 Pro, the company’s premium flagship offering in India, will release later this week. The phone will follow in the footsteps of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro. Moreover, the Xiaomi 12 Pro was first released in China and then expanded to other regions across the world. The device has a leather-like back panel with a huge main sensor and two conventional camera units below it. It’s one of the first phones to include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen1 processor, and it’s possible that it’ll be the cheapest model with the processor in the country.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro has a 2K 120Hz AMOLED display, 120W fast-charging compatibility, Android 12 OS, 50-megapixel triple cameras, a 4,600mAh battery, and 256GB storage with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM support.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro will release in India on April 27 at 12 p.m. IST. Even though Xiaomi is conducting a real event in India, it will live-stream via the company’s YouTube page as most events these days.
Price of Xiaomi 12 Pro (Expected)
In China, the Xiaomi 12 Pro costs RMB 4,699 (about Rs 55,200) for 8GB + 128GB, RMB 4,999 (roughly Rs 58,700) for 8GB + 256GB, and RMB 5,399 (roughly Rs 63,400) for 12GB + 256GB. In addition to the Xiaomi’s aggressive nature, we can expect the pricing to be slightly lower in India.
The Xiaomi 12 boasts a punch-hole cutout in the centre to accommodate the selfie camera, as well as gently curved edges and minimal bezels. On the right spine, you’ll find the volume rocker and power button. On the left edge, there’s nothing.
The phone includes a triple camera setup on the back in a rectangular module. The primary sensor features a big cutout, while the other two lenses are standard in size. On the bottom, there should be a USB Type-C port, the main microphone, and a speaker grille. Moreover, the smartphone comes with an on-screen fingerprint sensor.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro has a 6.73-inch E5 AMOLED display with WQHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and a pixel density of 522 pixels per inch. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protects the screen and has a peak brightness of 1500 nits.
It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU and comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of non-expandable storage. Moreover, the smartphone boasts a triple rear camera arrangement that includes a 50-megapixel main sensor with OIS, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 50-megapixel telephoto sensor on the image front. For selfies, films, and video calls, the phone boasts a 32-megapixel camera on the front.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro is one of the first smartphones to ship with MIUI 13 out of the box, which is based on Android 12. Dolby Atmos and Harman Kardon sound technologies are used to power the device’s quad-speaker configuration. The smartphone has a 4,600mAh battery that supports 120W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging. Thanks to the 10W reverse wireless charging support, you can easily charge other small devices.
