Realme has officially confirmed that it is replacing Realme UI with Oppo’s ColorOS, marking a major software change for its smartphones and tablets. The move means future Realme devices will ship with ColorOS, while several existing models are also expected to receive the latest ColorOS 17 Realme phones update based on Android 17.
Although the company has not released an official list of eligible devices, the rollout is expected to follow Realme’s current software update policy. The transition is unlikely to bring drastic visual changes, as Realme UI and ColorOS already share a similar design and codebase. What To Expect From This Update
While Realme has not announced the rollout timeline, ColorOS 17 is expected to debut on an Oppo smartphone before arriving on eligible Realme devices. Since Realme UI and ColorOS already share the same software foundation, users are unlikely to notice a dramatic redesign.
Instead, the update is expected to bring smoother animations, better system optimisation, improved privacy and security features, AI powered enhancements, and new customization options that were previously exclusive to Oppo smartphones.
