Instagram Working On New Flipside Feature, Will Allow Users To Do This

Instagram is testing a new feature called Flipside that will allow users to create an alternative profile for their account. This new feature will enhance privacy by showing a different profile for your “close friends” where you can posts photos and videos for a selected number of users.

Instagram to Soon Add New Flipside Feature

The Meta owned company is currently working on the Flipside feature where users create a alternative grid for their profile which will be only visible to a limited audience which they can select.

Instagram Head Adam Mosseri has announced on Threads, the company is currently testing the Flipside feature and it will be soon available to all users.It will work similar to the Close Friends feature showing your posts and videos only to a small group of people.

Mosseri also stated the company isn’t sure whether it will launch the Instagram Flipside feature as it is waiting to see how people will respond to it in the initial tests.We’re not even sure we’ll launch it on Instagram,” said Mosseri

“On one hand it feels good to create a clear space that feels more private. On the other, it’s yet another way to reach a smaller audience on top of secondary accounts and Close Friends. We’ll see how people respond in the test, and iterate forward”, he further stated.

The Flipside feature was seen in development in December when a user on X posted a renders of it.Similar to the primary Instagram account, users will be able to select a profile photo and a bio for their Flipside account which will be visible to a limited number of audience. The Instagram community guidelines will also be applicable to this alternative account.
