  • OnePlus has officially paused the rollout of its latest OxygenOS update after several users reported serious software problems on their devices. The latest OxygenOS update, identified as OxygenOS 16.0.7.XXX and 16.0.5.XXX, was being released to users in India and the United States before the company suddenly stopped the rollout.

According to OnePlus, a small number of users experienced abnormal restarts and boot related issues after installing the update. The company has now confirmed that its engineering team is actively investigating the issue and working on a fix. The decision to pause the rollout comes as OnePlus tries to prevent more users from facing software problems.

The latest OxygenOS update was expected to improve system performance and stability on supported devices. However, the unexpected bugs forced the company to halt the release temporarily.

Issues reported after installing the update include:

    • Abnormal phone restarts
    • Boot related issues
    • Possible system instability
    • Risk of temporary data loss in some cases

In an official community post, a OnePlus engineer apologised to users and assured them that the company is taking the issue seriously.

The company stated that it immediately paused the rollout while engineers investigate the root cause and prepare a stable software fix. At the moment, OnePlus has not confirmed when the corrected version of the update will become available.

OnePlus Users Advised To Wait Before Updating

Users who have not yet installed the latest OxygenOS update are being advised to wait until OnePlus releases a more stable version. Since the rollout has already been paused, many users may no longer see the update notification on their phones.

Experts also recommend backing up important data before installing any major software update. A buggy update can sometimes lead to app crashes, data loss, or software instability even if it does not damage the hardware.

OnePlus is expected to share more details about the revised update rollout in the coming days. Until then, users are advised to avoid manually installing the paused OxygenOS builds on their devices.
