On May 17, the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition, also known as the Speed Edition, will be releasing in China. OnePlus China CEO Li Jie Louis announced some of the main characteristics of this new smartphone only a few days before its debut, on May 14. He has verified that the Ace Racing Edition will include a 120Hz variable refresh rate LCD panel. MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max SoC powers the smartphone. This device looks to be inspiring by the OnePlus 10 Pro, and it will be available in blue and grey colours.

Li Jie made the news on his official Weibo account. It indicates that the next OnePlus Ace Racing Edition will include an LCD screen with six levels of variable refresh rates up to 120Hz. He further says that this OnePlus smartphone will be able to automatically modify the refresh rate based on what is there on the screen in order to optimize battery life. This phone will also include a MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max SoC.

To refresh your memory, the OnePlus Ace debuted in April. It sports a 120Hz dynamic refresh rate and a 6.7-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display. A Dimensity 8100-Max SoC also powers it. The Ace comes with a 4,500mAh battery that supports 150W Super Flash Charge rapid charging.

According to the source, the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition is likely to boast a 6.59-inch full-HD+ display. It is likely to include up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The phone is likely to include a triple back camera configuration with a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel secondary sensor, and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. On the front, there might be a 16-megapixel selfie camera. This device is likely to include a 5,000mAh battery with quick charging capabilities.
