Realme C12 Price in India
Realme C12 is priced in India at Rs 8,999/- for the sole 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant. The phone gets released on 18th August and will be available via a flash sale which will be held on 24th August on realme.com, Flipkart. Realme C12 looks pretty similar to other smartphones that the company offers. This time, we get to see a polished and decent looking back design which gets a matte-finished on top. At the back, we get a physical fingerprint scanner along with a huge, square-camera module at the top-left corner; along with Realme branding at the bottom. Available in Power Silver and Power Blue, the device is slightly on the bulkier side, weighing around 209g. But yes, it does feel sturdy and durable. All the ports and buttons are placed as you would expect them to be. At the bottom, we get the micro-USB port along with the audio jack and speaker grille. At the left-side is we see the SIM tray along with the power and volume buttons residing on the right-hand side.
The display on the Realme C12 looks somewhat outdated, thanks to the old-school dew-drop notch housing the front camera. So, at the front is a 6.5-inch IPS LCD Mini Drop FullScreen display. Unfortunately, the device comes with a standard HD+ resolution of 720×1560 pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio. With 420nits max brightness, the Realme C12 also gets an unspecified Gorilla Glass protection on top which adds to the durability.
It sports a MediaTek Helio G35 octa-core gaming processor. The Helio G35 chipset is manufactured on a 12nm node and is clocked at a max 2.3GHz. the chipset gets paired with PowerVR GE8320 GPU and 3GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Storage department includes 32GB of internal memory that can be expanded using a dedicated memory slot.
Realme C12 comes with Android 10-based Realme UI out-of-the-box which promises a much more polished refined user interface. You can expect the device to get updated with Android 11 soon.
Realme C12 boasts a triple-lens AI camera system with a generous 13MP primary sensor. The camera module looks like one copied from the Google Pixel 4, thanks to the boxy camera module. Along with the primary sensor, we also get a 2MP B&W lens with f/2.4 aperture and a 2MP macro-lens with f/2.4 aperture. The primary lens, with an f/2.2 aperture, is capable of taking photos in high-quality resolution and comes with features such as Beauty, filter, HDR, panoramic view, Portrait, Time-lapse, Slo-mo, NightScape and Expert mode. The lens also supports video shooting at up to 1080p and 720p/30fps slow-motion videos.
At the front is a 5MP AI selfie camera with f/2.4 aperture.
The major USP of Realme C12 is its battery configuration. So, under the hood is a massive 6,000mAh battery with a 10W charging speed via the 5V,2A adapter in the box. Realme claims an exceptional 57 days of standby time. The battery is also capable of offering up to 46 hours of calling time or 60 hours of music streaming or 28 hours of YouTube streaming. The Realme C12 also gets the latest reverse charging feature which allows the device to charge other devices using a typical Micro-USB to Micro-USB/Type-C cable.
Realme C12, except for its gigantic 6,000mAh cell, doesn’t arrive as a massive upgrade over its predecessors. It does come as an overall package, checking most of the boxes, but doesn’t get anything out of the ordinary. But yes, the multi-lens camera system, Helio G35 processor and the amazing battery configuration do make the device a worth one to be checked while looking to buy an affordable/budget smartphone in the market.
