    Highlights of the Story

    • MIUI 12 is the latest version of Xiaomi’s Android skin.
    • Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S receives this update.
    • It marks the 10th anniversary of the company’s existence.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S is receiving the latest version of Android’s skin, MIUI 12. The company upgraded the device a few weeks ago in Europe. However, the company has now seeded V12.0.2.0.QJWEUXM, replacing V12.0.1.0.QJWEUXM in the process.

The company unveiled this software in late April and is updating its devices OS since. Now, the Redmi Note 9S is the latest device to get this update worldwide.

However, Xiaomi has not made many changes from V12.0.1.0.QJWEUXM. So, it remains a question as to what changes it will bring in this latest update. According to the new build’s changelog, Xiaomi has only optimized system performance while improving system security and stability.

This typically means that it upgrades the system’s security patch level. However, this does not appear to be the case with V12.0.2.0.QJWEUXM.

The rollout of the MIUI 12 update is happening globally in a staged manner for a number of devices. However, to help you recall, Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S launched in India as Redmi Note 9Pro.

This particular version of the device has already started receiving MIUI 12 update in September. But the other variants of the smartphone namely Global, EEA, Turkey, and Russia have begun to get the update recently.

The update for the Global and EEA versions of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S is still in the stable beta phase. That means the final stable build may change for these variants depending on the build’s stability. On the other hand, Xiaomi is seeding the final stable build to the remaining three versions.
