Apex Legends Mobile is finally here to change the battle royale genre for the mobile gaming scene. While we’ve had quite a few decent games in BGMI and Garena Free Fire MAX, Apex Legends Mobile considerably changes the battle royale landscape. This hero shooter features various characters with multiple abilities that you can customise to your playstyle. Moreover, the movement mechanics in the game is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. In this article, we’re going to list the best Apex Legends Mobile characters so that you start the game on the right foot.

Veteran players of the Apex Legends game on console and PC will be happy to know that characters such as Wraith and Caustic return to the mobile version. More importantly, new characters such as Fade have been introduced as well. There’s a good chance that as the content gets updated in the future, further changes to the roster will take place. We’ll make sure that we update this article accordingly to accommodate even the decent new characters. On a side note, there are character tiers in this game. They start from the S tier, which is the best, followed by A, B, C, and D tiers.

Gibraltar

Gibraltar Apex legends mobile characters

When you’re playing in a squad in Apex Legends Mobile, you’ll notice that each player’s character has a specific role or specialisation. This is important as it helps create a more balanced team. Speaking of balance, if you want to take up the Support role, there’s none better than Gibraltar. In terms of a MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) slang, he’s an actual ‘Tank’. He’ll provide the entire team with excellent shielding capabilities. If your team is involved in an intense gunfight and requires a breather, Gibraltar is the best possible solution.

Role – Support

Tier – S

Abilities

  • Gun Shield – A protective ability that will protect the player from the enemies’ bullets.
  • Dome of Protection – Puts up a shield over the team’s area to block all enemy attacks. It’s effective for 12 seconds and is highly useful when you have to heal yourself.
  • Defensive Bombardment – This is an Ultimate attack and calls for a limited number of mortar strikes at a specified point. You can use this to distract enemies, kill them, or ward off enemies if you’re in a tight spot.

Wraith

Wraith

Wraith is one of the most famous characters in the Apex Legends franchise. One of the biggest reasons for her success among players in both Apex Legends and Apex Legends Mobile is that she’s excellent at the Flank or Attack role. Her abilities allow her to move from one location to another without being spotted and get the jump on enemies. This is an instrumental Legend to have in your squad when you’re bogged down by suppressing fire and need an outlet.

Role – Attack/Flank

Tier – A

Abilities

  • Voices from the Void – You will be alerted when an enemy is near your location.
  • Into the Void – Use this ability to change your position without being spotted by the enemies.
  • Dimensional Rift – An Ultimate attack that will link two locations through portals. The entire squad can teleport to another location and gain a vantage point.

Bloodhound

Bloodhound Apex legends mobile characters

Bloodhound is a part of the original cast available in Apex Legends PC. He’s one of the best characters for newcomers to use, as he’s not challenging to utilise. However, he’s not easy to master either. As a balanced character in the Recon role, his abilities are unmatched. He can be helpful in any squad to better understand the enemy’s whereabouts and how to exploit their positions.

Role – Recon

Tier – S

Abilities

  • Tracker – Allows the player to see the enemy’s footprints, especially if they’re near the area.
  • Eye of the Allfather – This ability will show all the enemies and their traps near your location. You can even see through the walls!
  • Beast of the Hunt – This is Bloodhound’s Ultimate ability and will help you move and track enemies faster for a short period. In this state, you’re near indestructible and can sneak up on enemies to finish them off.

Octane

Octane

In no uncertain terms, Octane is OP (Overpowered) in the Apex Legends Mobile port. His movement is insanely fast and will catch all the enemies off guard. However, he’s not easy to use, and it could take you a while to understand how his abilities work. There’s a compromise here as well. While he’s highly mobile, his health and durability are on the lower side. So, you’ll have no option but to move fast with him if you want to survive. Nonetheless, this character is worth the hype, and you should learn how to use him as soon as possible.

Role – Attack/Flank

Tier – B

Abilities

  • Swift Mend – This is an advantageous ability and helps you recover health, as long as you’re not engaged in combat.
  • Stim – Every time you use this ability, you lose 10 points of health. However, you also move 30 per cent faster than your normal speed. The duration of this ability is six seconds.
  • Launch Pad – This is Octane’s Ultimate Ability and will provide a jump pad. Your entire squad can jump on this pad and get a boost mid-air. This ability is useful in situations where you’re at a disadvantage and don’t have an easy way out. Repositioning yourself through this ability to regain the advantage becomes relatively easy.

Lifeline

Lifeline Apex legends mobile characters

As a Support character, the only other character worth using other than Gibraltar is Lifeline. She’s a great addition to any team because of her healing abilities. This is especially useful if you’re a newcomer to the Apex Legends franchise. The gunfights in the game are intense and frantic, allowing little to no breathing space. If you’re injured, Lifeline’s abilities will heal you at the opportune moments.

Role – Support

Tier – A

Abilities

  • Combat Medic – Uses the Drone of Compassion to revive teammates.
  • D.O.C. Heal Drone – The Drone of Compassion can heal all your teammates who are standing next to it.
  • Care Package – This is one of the best Ultimate abilities in the game. Using this ability will grant you a care package that will provide your entire team with high-level loot.

What about Fade?

Fade

Fade is a new, mobile-exclusive character introduced to Apex Legends Mobile. The character has been moulded, keeping in mind the structure and abilities of Wraith. However, Fade is much faster and has been designed keeping in mind the mobile port’s gameplay mechanics. While there’s not much information regarding Fade’s tier, the Legend is good at flanking and attacking.

Abilities

  • Slipstream – This ability gives Fade a short burst of speed after sliding. The cooldown for this ability is 10 seconds.
  • Flash Back – Flash Back rewinds Fade’s interaction and movement in the game to a specific, more advantageous point. It has a 20 seconds cooldown.
  • Phase Chamber – This is Fade’s Ultimate Ability and traps nearby opponents in an area where they can’t move or damage anyone. It has a longer cooldown period of 90 seconds.

Conclusion

As you can see, some of the underrated characters from the console and PC versions of Apex Legends have received significant buffs in Apex Legends Mobile. This will be a fun change of pace and can create an exciting player dynamic. We’ll keep this space updated with the best Apex Legends Mobile characters when there’s new content to the game.
