  • Review Summary

Xiaomi launched the latest Redmi Note 15 series in India, targeting mid-range users with its exceptional camera capabilities. Moreover, its curved finish attracts some users, as it fits perfectly in a single hand.

It’s a Qualcomm SM6475-AB Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 (4 nm) chip, also capable of delivering smooth performance in daily use. However, its Si/C Li-Ion 5520 mAh battery may not attract users, as other brands are launching phones with 7,000+ mAh batteries. Let’s read my in-detailed Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 5G review.

Redmi Note 15 5G Design and Build

Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 offers an excellent design with an amazing plastic back finish. It does not take a fingerprint stain on the back, and the curved design fits perfectly in a single hand with a protective cover. I’m saying this because you may feel slippery without cover.

    Redmi Note 15 5G design

    This phone weighs 178 grams and measures 164 x 75.4 x 7.4 mm. It also has an IP66 rating, with a dust-tight, water-resistant design.

So, it can withstand high-pressure water jets and is drop-resistant up to 1.7m. Moreover, it is MIL-STD-810H compliant.

Redmi Note 15 5G camera design

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 has a unique rear camera design that appears to include a telephoto lens. But actually, it does not have such a lens. Moreover, its body lies perfectly on the table without dissemblance.

    Redmi Note 15 5G Camera

The Redmi Note 15 5G comes with a 108MP primary camera and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. This is the first phone to use the new 108MP HM9 sensor.

In daylight, the primary camera captures good details and sharp images. Colours look slightly boosted, but the output still feels pleasing for social media use.

The dynamic range is decent and handles most scenes well. Portrait photos come out clean with proper edge detection. The ultra-wide camera is usable in good lighting, but loses details in complex scenes.

Low-light photos are surprisingly decent for the price. Night mode improves brightness and details, but colour boosting is noticeable. Video recording from the rear camera is up to 4K at 30 fps. Video quality is good, but stabilisation could have been better. The front camera takes decent selfies and is fine for video calls and casual use.

Overall, the Redmi Note 15 5G camera review is excellent for mid-range users who prefer a strong primary sensor.

Redmi Note 15 5G Battery and Charging

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 features a 5520 mAh battery, providing long-lasting battery life on a single charge. Most of us may not be drawn to the battery number, since every brand is moving toward 7,000+ mAh.

I got almost nine hours of plus screentime on a single charge. Moreover, it features silicon-carbon anode technology and smart charging, aiming for 80 per cent capacity retention after 1600 cycles. So, technically, it lasted about 5 years without any issue.

During the Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 review, it takes almost 1 hour and 16 minutes to charge fully with a 45W charger. It also supports reverse charging, so you can charge earbuds and smartwatches with it.

    Redmi Note 15 5G Display

Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 has a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with HDR10+ support. So, you all can watch perfect videos with proper deep black. I watched a few videos and do not see any issues with the colours.

    Redmi Note 15 5G display

Moreover, it supports 800 nits (typ) and 3200 nits (peak) brightness, allowing it to be used in direct sunlight without reflections. I even used this phone in direct sunlight and could use it at full brightness without any reflections.

    video quality

It also has a 120Hz refresh rate, making it perfect to scroll the display. But you can also change it from setting to adaptive or 60Hz. This phone has a 1080 x 2392 pixels resolution and an 89.7 per cent screen-to-body ratio.

The brand is focused on durability as well that why they added scratch and drop-resistant glass with a Mohs level 5. So, its display can protect the device in light accidental drop.

    Redmi Note 15 5G Performance

The Redmi Note 15 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor. Daily usage feels smooth and responsive. Tasks like calling, messaging, browsing, and social media work without any lag. App opening and switching feel quick and consistent.

    Redmi Note 15 5G chipset

Gaming performance is reliable for casual and mid-level gamers. I played BGMI for long sessions, and the phone handled it well. You can play up to HDR plus extreme settings smoothly. Even during extended gaming sessions, the phone does not heat up much.Redmi Note 15 5G gaming performance The combination of LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage helps in maintaining steady performance. Multitasking is smooth, and background apps stay active.

Redmi Note 15 5G Antutu scoreFor users who want stable performance for daily use and gaming, this phone delivers a dependable experience. Just one catch, I was expecting UFS 3.1 at least in this price range.

Redmi Note 15 5G Software and UI

The Redmi Note 15 5G runs on Android 15-based HyperOS 2. The interface feels smooth, clean, and easy to use. Animations are fluid, and overall navigation feels refined.

    Redmi Note 15 5G Android 15

There are some preinstalled apps, but most of them can be removed. Useful features such as customisable display options, a fingerprint sensor, and face unlock are included. Both fingerprint and face unlock work fast, with face unlock being slightly quicker.

    UI

Xiaomi promises four years of Android updates and six years of security updates, which is impressive in this price range. Stability is good, and I did not face any major bugs during usage. Overall, the Redmi Note 15 5G software review experience feels polished, reliable, and user-friendly.

    Verdict

In this Redmi Note 15 5G review, the phone proves to be a solid mid-range option. It offers a strong primary camera, smooth performance, and a vibrant display. The battery life is dependable, and the software support is impressive for this segment.

While it misses out on better video stabilisation and a telephoto camera, it still delivers good value for everyday users. Overall, the Redmi Note 15 5G is a balanced smartphone for users seeking camera-focused performance at a competitive price. Thanks for reading the Redmi Note 15 5G review, and leave your thoughts as well.
