Vivo X50 Pro uses X-Class Design that makes it different from others in the competition. From a super small punch hole at 3.96mm to its majestic colour, Vivo X50 Pro stands out amongst the crowd. The bezels around the edges are tightened giving it a uber premium look and feel. The edges are curved a bit that drops a few millimetres into its thickness.
The rear camera setup is the USP bearing a rather strange-looking ‘Big Eye’ with Gimbal support followed by three other sensors in a rectangular-shaped camera bump and a Vivo branding at the bottom. The Alpha Grey colour made with the AG Frosting technology symbolizes the depth of the space and its mysteriousness.
Vivo X50 Pro packs in a huge 6.56-inch LIV AMOLED 3D curved Ultra O Screen that offers a much-needed premium look and feels. With DCI-P3 Color Gamut, HDR10+ support, and 90Hz refresh rate, the phone won’t disappoint you when watching a movie or zipping through terrain on a high-speed high-graphics game like never before. It arrives with a 180Hz screen response rate for quicker response when you tap on the screen. Just as its vanilla variant, the Pro variant has a max brightness of 1300 nits and the minimum goes as low as 1.9 nits using the customized Sunlight Display algorithm which creates a perfect view at any lighting conditions.
Unlike the vanilla X50, Vivo X50 Pro sports a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G octa-core SoC that brings 5G network support on-board as well. It comes with a single storage configuration and that’s 8GB RAM and 256GB ROM. Next up, it arrives with Android 10-based FuntouchOS 10.5; and no doubt it is the recipient of the upcoming Android 11-based Funtouch Android 11 later this year along with Android 12 next year.
Vivo X50 Pro packs in a high-octane quad-camera setup at the back; which includes a 48MP Sony IMX 598 primary Gimbal Main Camera System along with a 13MP professional portrait camera, an 8MP Super Wide-Angle and Macro lens and an 8MP Periscope Telephoto lens. The gimbal support on the primary sensor gives it 3D stabilization and 300% larger angles than OIS. The Super Night Camera 3.0 with Gimbal support goes to the next level producing high-quality images. It uses the AI Noise Cancellation algorithm to produce images that are crystal clear and sharp. Penetrate even through the darkest night with the night mode.
The Astro Mode gives it cosmic vision to pierce through the atmosphere to see the universe more vividly and clearly. There’s Motion AF Tracking so that you never lose focus on your subject. Finally, its 60x Hyper Zoom gives you astounding zooming capabilities without losing details. The front remains at 32MP as you have seen with Vivo X50.
Vivo X50 Pro packs in a battery pack of 4,315 mAh which is still 115 mAh larger than the vanilla variant of Vivo X50. The battery is large enough to course you throughout the day even if it is subjected to moderate to heavy usage. It also comes with a 33W FlashCharge 2.0 that should charge the battery to its full capacity in way under an hour. A few minutes of charge should be enough for an hour of talk time.
No doubt Vivo X50 Pro is an impressive camera photography beast powered by a high-octane Snapdragon 765G processor. But that is where it should have gone for flagship chipsets like Snapdragon 855+ or Snapdragon 865 if not SDM865+. This would’ve enabled it to tap into the capabilities and extend it to its extremities. Anyways, all other aspects of the phone are desirable; but it is quite expensive so there are other alternatives that you can compare before buying it.
