Since PUBG: New State was released at the tail end of 2021, the game has gone slightly under the radar. It brought multiple new changes to the game, with a futuristic setup, various new maps, and more refined graphics and gameplay. Regardless, the game has over 50 million downloads, which shows that it’s doing something right. If you’ve been curious about the game and have just started playing it, the new gameplay mechanics might be slightly confusing. Moreover, since the game has a bunch of new guns, you’ll have to play multiple matches to find out what works for you. If you don’t want to go through so much hassle, we’ve got you covered. This article will look at the best guns in PUBG: New State so that your in-game arsenal is always at its best!
Due to the fact that the game is set in 2051 North America, a few things have changed since the last game. You’ll now have an arsenal of drones and new guns (like the P90) to try. Many older guns make a comeback from the previous game, though, with the SCAR-L and M246 being as deadly as ever. So, this list will combine all types of guns to give you an idea about which guns to use. With that being said, let’s check the entries!
Groza – Powered to the max
Let’s put it out there immediately – the Groza is overpowered in PUBG: New State. Even though numerous updates have tried to nerf its stats, the gun is still the best in the game, without a shred of doubt. Its accuracy is excellent, with unbelievable damage. Moreover, the firing rate isn’t something to laugh at either. This Bullpup rifle is ideal for beginners. So, if you see this gun and have a chance to loot it or pick it up, go for it immediately.
The reload speed isn’t all that great, however. Nonetheless, you’ll be able to finish off your enemies, thanks to the high damage profile, without changing your magazine.

M416 – The old reliable
Calling the M416 old is a bit of an overstatement. The gun is relatively modern and has excellent stats on all fronts. However, this assault rifle is a classic addition to the guns in PUBG: New State. You can attach up to five different attachments to it to suit your playing style. Furthermore, the recoil is on the lower side, ensuring that your accuracy doesn’t falter in sticky situations. It isn’t great over long-range, unfortunately. Regardless, this is a small price to pay for an all-rounder gun. Whether it comes to weight, firing rate, or damage output, this gun is perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
S12K – Extreme damage
While shotguns aren’t a popular weapon choice unless you’re making a tactical squad, the S12K cuts it quite well. Shotguns are excellent at picking off enemies at close ranges or inside buildings. Since the S12K is a semi-automatic shotgun, you can fire multiple shells at rapid speeds. Moreover, the damage output of this gun is simply ridiculous. If your enemy even comes near the firing range of this weapon, they’ll be dead before they know it. For those players who want to experiment with the shotgun, the S12K should be your only choice.
Vector – Lightweight and destructive
Submachine guns (SMGs) are beneficial in areas where you expect the fights to be between close to medium range. If you’re going into a building to clear out enemies and don’t want to use a slow shotgun, Vector is the gun you should be using. Its tremendous firing rate and burst mode damage will instantly dispatch enemies. However, since the recoil is so high, you shouldn’t be firing continuously. This will lead to inaccurate bullet spreads that will leave you open for the kill. Otherwise, as far as light and fast weapons go, Vector is one of the best guns in PUBG: New State.
AWM – Long range monster
The AWM is one of the rarer guns in PUBG: New State. However, if you find it and have a penchant for sniping, there’s none better. The AWM stands for Arctic Warfare Magnum, and has an excellent sniping range. Moreover, the damage output of the gun is absolutely insane. It doesn’t matter if your opponent is wearing a Level 3 helmet or armour, the AWM’s bullets can pierce through anything. Its bolt-action reload style can make the gun slightly slow, but it’s not a dealbreaker. The AWM is an endgame sniper rifle and can be a dangerous weapon in the right (virtual) hands.
DP-28 – Heavy assault
PUBG: New State features just two light machine guns (LMGs), the M249 and the DP-28. If you like to play a support role in your squad and prefer LMGs, the DP-28 should be your first choice. Of course, being an LMG, the DP-28 is astounding at medium range and will guarantee you plenty of kills. The recoil is on the lower side, making it more reliable than some assault rifles or submachine guns. The firing rate isn’t the fastest, however.
Moreover, it’s pretty heavy. So, if you’re trying to escape to the playing zone, you’ll have to holster this weapon to increase your running speeds. Nonetheless, the DP-28 is definitely one of the best guns in PUBG: New State.
Crossbow – Special package
The Crossbow will make you feel like an apex predator. It’s a highly polarising weapon in the game, but it’s quite effective if you know how to use it properly. Of course, we’d recommend you not to use this weapon in the face of fire. It doesn’t have the greatest reload speeds or firing range. Regardless, if you are accurate with the Crossbow, you can effortlessly get kills through single shots. We’ve included this one weapon here, even though it isn’t technically a gun. Even then, it’s worth giving this weapon a shot.
What did you think of our picks for the best guns in PUBG: New State? As you can see, some of the classics still make the list. We’ve added weapons on this list for every preference. This will help you choose a gun based on your preferences and playing style. For beginners, this should provide a much better understanding of how weapons work in the game.
