Honor is steadily recovering market share in a sector where it had vanished following the United State’s ban on Huawei. The firm continues to speed up the pace with the launches now that it is autonomous and in the hands of a conglomerate of enterprises in Shenzhen. The Honor Play 5T Pro has arrived. The model upgrades the previous generation Honor Play 4T Pro and retains the dedication to 4G by using a MediaTek processor from the Helio series rather than one from the Dimensity series. So, it is time to check out all the features that the Honor Play 5T pro has brought to the market. 

Honor Play 5T Pro price in India 

In China, the new Honor Play 5T Pro is priced at CNY 1,499 for the single 8GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration. It is available in Magic Night Black and Titanium Silver. The phone is currently available for preorder on the HiHonor website and will be available for purchase on August 11th. The Honor Play 5T Pro is not available in India yet. 

Honor Play 5T Pro Design 

Designwise, the Honor Play 5T Pro is excellent, boasting a plane rear panel with a stylish camera module and company branding, which appears shiny. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the right side along with the volume rocker at a suitable location. 

Looking at the front, you’ve got a beautiful display with almost negligible bezels around the edges and the top. There is a small chin at the bottom and the punch-hole at the top-mid positions looks very appealing. Also, the overall weight is below 200 grams, which makes this device nice and easy to handle single-handedly. 

Honor Play 5T Pro Display 

In China, Honor’s new phone is available with a 6.6-inch diagonal LCD screen and a 60Hz refresh rate, which is becoming increasingly rare. There is a 16-megapixel front-facing camera perforated into the screen. The screen has a 20:9 aspect ratio and FullHD+ quality. As a result, we’ll be looking at 2,400 x 1,080 pixels.

Honor Play 5T Pro Performance 

The MediaTek Helio G80 is the CPU, and there is just one RAM (8GB) and one internal storage (128GB) option. There is no microSD card slot. A USB Type-C port for charging and file transfer is included, as well as 4G and WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and GPS. The absence of 5G is one big issue that’ll go against the Honor Play 5T, given the present competition. 

The Honor Play 5T Pro runs on Magic UI 4.0, which is based on Android 10. Although every smartphone manufacturer is offering Android 11 nowadays, Honor has done the reverse here, which is one of the negative points.

For propelling the device, Honor has provided a 4000 mAh battery in the Honor Play 5T Pro, which is again against the standards of the current competition. If not 5G, a large battery should have been offered. Now the minor relief is the addition of 22.5W fast charging, which makes it possible to refill the battery within less time than usual.

Honor Play 5T Pro Verdict 

Presently, users are looking for affordable 5G devices, camera phones, game-centric devices etc. Given all the specs, it doesn’t seem the Honor Play 5T Pro fits in any category. The display is without a higher refresh date, the chipset doesn’t support 5G and the camera setup is not that impressive along with a 4000 mAh battery only. So, it is better to invest somewhere else.
