Users of Apple Music’s music streaming service in India may now enjoy Lossless Audio, Dolby Atmos, and Spatial Audio. The new features are free of charge and available to all Apple Music users on iOS, macOS, and Apple TV. The new features were first made available to Apple Music subscribers in the United States and other global markets in June. And they have now arrived in India, where users pay Rs. 99 per month for access to the individual subscription plan.
Furthermore, Apple has confirmed to Gadgets 360 that the new features for Apple Music in India would be available on the Android app soon, although no timeline has been given.
Apple Music Launches Lossless Audio, Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos
Users of Apple Music on Apple’s supported platforms, including iOS and macOS, should already have accessibility to the features if they enable them in the service’s settings. This may be done in the Settings by going into the Apple Music settings and turning on the Lossless Audio. In addition, you can also enable Dolby Atmos from these settings.
Apple has also released a variety of curated playlists for Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos to aid with the discovery of tracks available in both formats; including songs by Indian artists such as AR Rahman and Badshah.
A substantial percentage of its catalog is already accessible in Lossless Audio format; with select tracks and albums being available in High-Resolution Lossless. When tracks are playing on iOS, the resolution is prominently displayed, and touching on the icon reveals the exact resolution of the track.
Apple Music is available in India starting at Rs. 49 per month for students, while normal individual and family plan costs Rs. 99 per month and Rs. 149 per month, respectively. You can also get access to Apple Music if you have an Apple One subscription; which includes access to Apple Arcade, Apple TV+, and iCloud storage.
