Realme is gearing up to launch multiple smartphones this year and it is expected that the Chinese smartphone company will make those available for the global audience. A couple of days ago, Realme launched a brand new device in Malaysia called Realme C21 for providing its services to the affordable section with some of the latest features stuffed in this device. For competing in the cut-throat market, the Realme C21 according to the company is equipped with a stunning processor and a massive battery and multiple other features. Here is a brief summary of the Realme C21 for getting all the details about this newly launched device.
Realme C21 Price in India
Realme C21 is available in Malaysia for now under the price tag of MYR 499. The given price is for the single variant of the Realme C21, with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. For the Indian smartphone market, the Realme C21 price is expected to be around Rs.8,999. The colour options include Cross Black and CrossBlue. Realme C21 is expected to be launched on May 26, 2021.
The design language is quite simple that you will expect from an affordable smartphone. On the rear, there is a glass back carrying a square-shaped camera module and fingerprint sensor along with a speaker grille at the bottom. If there is something that is attractive on the rear, it’s the diamond cut pattern.
Looking at the front, there is a usual water-drop display with a thick chin and minimum bezels along the edges. The right side is carrying the power button and the volume rocker and the bottom side features a 3.5mm headphone jack, speaker grille and a Type-C charging port. With 8.9mm of thickness and 190 grams of weight, Realme C21 might appear bulky while holding it for the first time.
Realme C21 carries a 6.5-inch LCD multi-touch display with a resolution of 720 pixels, which is not as per the latest standards, however considering the price tag, it does the job very well. Realme has tried to offer a large viewing area in this entry-level smartphone and provided an 89.5% screen-to-body ratio. Also, the visuals appear crisper with 400nits of maximum brightness.
For an affordable smartphone, it is better to have a capable processor rather than having a dull one. Realme has done the same thing and installed the MediaTek Helio G35 chipset in Realme C21, which is quite excellent for a smartphone priced under 10K as we have seen in the Redmi 9 smartphone. However, the 32GB RAM is something that is a pain in the neck and also the 3GB RAM. Realme has always been known to offer exciting specs at a low price, so the expectation was to see at least 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.
Realme C21 runs on Android 10 with Realme UI skin on top. Nowadays all the affordable smartphones are loaded with Android 10 OS, which is sufficient for ensuring a smooth user-interface.
The camera section of Realme C21 features a 13MP AI triple camera setup on the rear, which is quite good for this price range. Speaking of the overall rear camera module, it houses a 13MP primary sensor, a 5MP PDAF lens and a 2MP Macro lens. Realme is offering multiple features with the rear camera setup and those include, Night Mode, HDR, and Ultra macro, AI Beauty, Filter and Chrome Boost. When it comes to video recording, Realme C21 can shoot videos up to 1080 pixels at 30fps with its rear camera setup.
However the selfie camera is of average quality, a 5MP sensor with an aperture of f/2.2 may not be able to capture as per your expectations. The additional features are here also in the front camera section and include Portrait Mode, Timelapse, and Panoramic view, Beauty Mode, HDR, Face Recognition and Filter.
Realme has this habit of loading its smartphones with a strong powerhouse and the same has been done here. Yes, you are getting a massive 5000 mAh battery with Realme C21, which is capable of providing a large battery back for the whole day, so that you don’t have to carry your charger with you all day. However, normal charging is something that might create a problem, as it is not easy to refill such a huge battery within less time. So it is going to take at least 3 to 4 hours to make the battery full. Here the additional feature is that Realme C21 offers a Reverse charging feature and carries a Type-C charging port.
There are two things worth mentioning. First, compared to all other devices available in the market, Realme C21 offers decent competition with its huge 5000 mAh battery, its capable processor and an excellent camera setup. But, there are flaws as well and the first one is normal charging while the second one is a meagre selfie camera. Still, the Realme C21 is good to go with, if you are ok with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.
