Itel P55 Will Be The Cheapest 5G Phone In India
According to a report by 91Mobiles, the Itel P55 5G will launch during the festive season, possibly towards the end of September. The budget smartphone could end up disrupting the market by being the most affordable 5G phone. It will have a price tag of less than Rs.10,000 and rival the likes of the Xiaomi Redmi 12 5G, Poco M6 Pro 5G, and Infinix Hot 30 5G, which are much more expensive phones.
According to the teaser image, the P55 5G will sport a dual camera setup on the back with LED flash. It has a curved back with volume buttons and power keys on the right. The phone’s specifications are unknown, but it could sport a Unisoc processor and a 5,000mAh battery.
The P55 will also be the first 5G phone from Itel, as the company’s CEO Arijeet Talapatra had indicated launching a 5G device in 2023. Itel is a sub-brand of Transsion Holdings, and the company offers budget smartphones and tablets in India.
The company recently launched the Itel P40+ and Itel A60s budget phones in the country at an affordable price. The P40+ costs Rs.8,0999, while the A60s retails at Rs.6,299. These affordable phones offer a large battery and display for their price.
