According to a report by WABetaInfo, in an upcoming update the chat history migration feature will be out. However, the time of arrival is still unknown and WhatsApp has not given any statement yet.

The report includes a screenshot of WhatsApp for iOS that basically shows a pop-up asking to upgrade the application. The screenshot states that the upgradation will help the user to move chat history to another device running WhatsApp for Android.

WABetaInfo tests out features in the beta version and publishes information about the upcoming upgrades and features. Also, according to the report, when a user will try to link the device having a different OS, then the user needs to update the application to the latest version available.

The update of the application will prevent any compatibility error with the android and iOS versions of the application. This will help in the easier transference of chat history from one device to another.

Apart from the migration feature, WhatsApp is also looking forward to releasing device functionality features. These features can help the user to use the WhatsApp web application without keeping their phones connected to the internet. Soon this feature will also be out for every user. However, WhatsApp has not confirmed any statement yet.
