Just a few days back, Samsung launched the Samsung Galaxy A57 and the Samsung Galaxy A37 in India. Both look stylish, and the premium colours give them an amazing in-hand feel. For the last two weeks, I’ve been using both phones constantly at their peak.
I played a lot of games, watched videos, and shot several images. So, let’s dive into my honest Samsung Galaxy A57 vs Samsung Galaxy A37 comparison. But before going into a deep dive, read the specs at a glance first.

Samsung Galaxy A57 vs Samsung Galaxy A37: Price and Availability
The Samsung Galaxy A57 5G comes in three colours: Awesome Navy, Awesome Icyblue, and Awesome Lilac. The price for the model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is Rs 56,999, and for the model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, the price is Rs 62,499.
The Samsung Galaxy A37 5G is available in Awesome Lavender, Awesome Greygreen, and Awesome Charcoal. The prices are Rs 41,999 for the model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, Rs 47,499 for the model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and Rs 52,999 for the model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
Samsung Galaxy A57 vs Samsung Galaxy A37: Design And Display
In terms of design, both phones look identical, but the build quality is totally different. The Samsung Galaxy A57 features an aluminium frame for improved durability. Plus, it’s only 6.9mm thick, giving it an eye-catching look and making it incredibly thin.
On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy A37 has a plastic frame, is 7.4mm thick, and also looks cool in Awesome Lavender. But when we compare the appearance of both phones, the A57 has a slight edge.
Samsung Galaxy A57 is available in Awesome Navy (which I’m using), Awesome Icyblue, and Awesome Lilac colours. Moreover, the Samsung Galaxy A37 is available in Awesome Charcoal, Awesome Lavender (which I’m using), and Awesome Greygreen.
Colour preferences may vary from person to person, but I liked the Awesome Navy colour of A57 the most.
Moving on to the display, there isn’t much difference in specs, as both phones have a 6.7-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1900 nits of peak brightness and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ (Mohs level 5) on the front.
Yes, the A57 features a smaller notch with a Super AMOLED+ display, compared to the A37, which has a larger notch with a Super AMOLED display.
If I had to choose one device over the other for display and design, I would definitely choose the Samsung Galaxy A57 without a second thought, thanks to its 6.9 mm slim body, aluminium frame, and better Super AMOLED+ display.

Samsung Galaxy A57 vs Samsung Galaxy A37: Camera And Battery
Both models have a triple rear camera setup. The Samsung Galaxy A57 comes with a 50MP wide + 12MP ultrawide + 5MP macro rear camera sensor. The Samsung Galaxy A37 has a 50MP wide + 8MP ultrawide + 5MP macro setup.
If we look at the sensors, the Galaxy A57 has a better ultrawide camera, which is why it delivers better image quality in landscape group photos and other wide shots. Moving on to general images: with a 50MP wide sensor, both phones produce almost identical images.
You can also see the sample images where both phones struggle in low-light conditions.
Moving on to the front camera, both phones have the same 12MP front camera, offering similar selfies. I clicked a few selfies in cloudy conditions, and I got similar results in both cases.
Talking about the battery, both phones have the same 5000mAh battery. I used both phones to play games, watch videos, and use social media as well. I got almost seven to eight hours of screen time on a single charge.
One thing I hate about these phones is the slow charging. Firstly, you get only a Type-C cable with the box. I used a 60W Xiaomi charger to charge both phones, but they took almost 80 minutes to fully charge.
Both phones have similar specs, but if you want a better ultrawide sensor, choose the Samsung Galaxy A57. Otherwise, I suggest sticking with the Samsung Galaxy A37 to save money.

Samsung Galaxy A57 vs Samsung Galaxy A37: Performance And Software
Performance is where both phones start to differ. The Samsung Galaxy A57 comes with the Exynos 1680 (4 nm) chipset, and the Samsung Galaxy A37 comes with the Exynos 1480 (4 nm) chipset. When it comes to raw performance, the Exynos 1680 is a new 4nm chipset with higher clocks up to 2.9GHz, while the Exynos 1480 is an older-generation chip.
The A57 uses a newer architecture + better CPU cores, which directly improves responsiveness and multitasking. I checked the AnTuTu scores, where the A57 scored 1.39 million and 0.91 million in A37.
If I talk about the direct differences between the two phones, then understand that the Galaxy A57 offers faster app opening & switching, better sustained performance in gaming, fewer frame drops in heavy games, and improved AI/NPU performance, making processing more efficient.
I played a lot of BGMI on both phones, and the Galaxy A57 delivered, which offers a better gaming experience with no lag in hot drop. There was no noticeable heating issue, making it a better choice for gamers
But when you switch to the Galaxy A37, I would not say that you can’t play games, but the experience will not be the same. After three or four hours of continuous gaming, you can feel warm in your hand, even with lag issues during intense fights because of frame drop issues.
Software and long-term support are the same. The Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37 are very similar. Both phones come with One UI 8.5, which is based on Android 16. This means they have all the new features that Samsung phones offer. One important point is that Samsung promises to provide these phones with software updates and new versions for up to 6 years.
In my opinion, as an iOS 26 user, I liked OneUI 8 the most. It’s because it comes with rich customisation options. Moreover, I loved the animation, app widgets and other things. Galaxy AI integration further enhances the overall experience.

Verdict
If I sum up the Samsung Galaxy A57 vs Samsung Galaxy A37 comparison, the A57 clearly stands out as a more refined and performance-focused upgrade. You get a better chipset, smoother gaming, a premium build, and a slightly improved display experience.
That said, the A37 is still a sensible pick for users who don’t want to spend extra and are okay with slightly lower performance and camera flexibility. It covers the basics well and saves a good amount of money.
So, if performance and long-term usage matter, go with the A57. If budget is your priority, the A37 is still a practical choice.
