Vivo T5x Design and Build
The Vivo T5x comes with a fresh design, which is a slightly modified and enhanced version of the Vivo T4x. Last year, we saw a slightly wider camera module with the Aura Light placed vertically on the lower side.

Now, on the Vivo T5x, the two camera sensors are arranged in a row, while the flash and Aura Light are also placed in the same row. As a result, the camera module now has a clean, square-shaped design with a less noticeable camera bump.

The back panel also looks beautiful as it changes colour from different angles. Moreover, it is made of plastic, but the finish is neither completely matte nor glossy.

There are also no major issues with fingerprint stains on the back panel. The frame is also made of plastic, but due to the larger battery inside, the phone does not give the best in-hand feel. That’s why the device feels a bit bulky at 219 grams and measures 166.6 x 78.4 x 8.4 mm.

One of the best things is that Vivo has added an IP68/IP69 rating for dust and water resistance. This means the phone can withstand high-pressure water jets and can be submerged in up to 1.5 metres of water for 30 minutes.

It is also MIL-STD-810H compliant, although this does not guarantee ruggedness or suitability for use in extreme conditions.

Talking about the ports and buttons, the phone has a secondary speaker on the top. On the right side, you get the power button and volume rocker, while the SIM tray is placed on the left. At the bottom, there is a microphone, a USB Type-C port, and the primary speaker.
Vivo T5x Camera
The Vivo T5x comes with a 50MP primary rear camera along with an auxiliary lens. The auxiliary lens mainly helps in depth sensing for portrait shots rather than offering macro photography. Overall, the camera performance is decent considering the price segment.

I clicked several photos in different lighting conditions, and the phone performed well in daylight. In fact, daylight photography remains one of Vivo’s biggest strengths.

Colours look vibrant without being over-processed, while the dynamic range is also satisfactory. Portrait mode works well in bright conditions, producing good background separation.

You can also notice this in the flower samples, where the edge detection is quite accurate. However, portrait performance becomes inconsistent in low-light situations.

One thing I liked is that Vivo has kept the camera app simple. There are not too many unnecessary modes. You get the standard Photo, Portrait, Video, Ultra HD, Document, and Dual View modes.

Dual View can be useful for vloggers, while an Underwater Photography mode is also available, although I did not get a chance to test it. There are a few additional modes as well, but most users are unlikely to use them in daily life.

The biggest compromise is the absence of an ultra-wide camera, and you also don’t get a dedicated macro lens. In the regular camera mode, the phone offers up to 2x zoom, and during Vivo T5x review, I clicked most of my photos at this zoom level because it delivered the best-looking results with natural framing and good details.

On the front, the Vivo T5x features a 32MP selfie camera. It captures good selfies in most lighting conditions with pleasing skin tones and decent details. For videos, both the rear and front cameras support recording at up to 4K 30fps, which is a good addition at this price.
Vivo T5x Battery and Charging
The Vivo T5x packs a massive 7,200mAh battery, and this is undoubtedly one of the biggest highlights of the phone. During my usage, battery backup was excellent. Even with heavy tasks like gaming, camera usage, social media, and streaming, I was consistently getting around 8 to 10 hours of screen-on time. For normal day-to-day usage, the phone can easily last close to two days on a single charge.

If you are a light user who mainly uses WhatsApp, YouTube, web browsing, and occasional photography, you may even stretch the battery life beyond two days. However, the actual backup will always depend on your usage pattern.

To charge this large battery, Vivo bundles a 44W FlashCharge adapter in the box. Despite the huge battery capacity, the phone takes around 90 to 100 minutes to charge from 0 to 100%, which is quite impressive. The combination of a giant battery and fast charging means you don’t have to worry about carrying a charger throughout the day. The phone also supports reverse wired charging, allowing you to charge accessories like earbuds or even another smartphone in an emergency. I even charged my earbuds during the Vivo T5x review.
Vivo T5x Display
The Vivo T5x features a 6.76-inch IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,200 nits of HBM brightness. It also has a Full HD+ (1080 x 2344 pixels) resolution, which delivers sharp enough visuals for daily usage.

Honestly, I was expecting an AMOLED display at this price. However, I think Vivo has skipped it to keep the overall price competitive while offering better hardware like the Dimensity 7400 Turbo chipset and a massive 7,200mAh battery. If an AMOLED panel is your top priority, this could be a compromise.

During my Vivo T5x review, I watched Jolly LLB 3 on JioHotstar, and the display quality was good enough for consuming movies and web series without feeling much degraded.

Colours look decent, while the deep blacks are acceptable, although they cannot match an AMOLED display. Viewing angles are also good enough for everyday use.

One thing I did not like is the giant bottom bezel. It is quite noticeable and makes the front design look a bit outdated compared to some competitors in this price segment.
On the positive side, the 120Hz refresh rate makes scrolling, app switching, and general navigation feel smooth. Whether you are browsing social media or playing supported games, the higher refresh rate definitely improves the overall user experience.
Vivo T5x Performance
The Vivo T5x is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Turbo (4nm) chipset, and overall, its performance is excellent considering the price range. In day-to-day usage, the phone feels smooth whether you are switching between apps, browsing social media, streaming videos, or handling multiple tasks at once. I did not notice any lag or stutter during my regular usage.

For gaming, my experience was a bit mixed. During Vivo T5x review, I played a lot of Free Fire MAX, and the gameplay was excellent without any noticeable lag or frame drops. The phone maintained stable performance even during longer gaming sessions, and heating was well under control.

However, if your primary game is BGMI, then this may not be the best option. The phone can run BGMI, but the overall experience is not as smooth as some competing devices in this price range that are more gaming-focused. So, if you are a casual gamer, the Vivo T5x is perfectly fine, but hardcore BGMI players should consider other alternatives.
Another major highlight is the UFS 3.1 storage. It helps apps open quickly, improves multitasking, and keeps multiple apps running in the background without slowing down the phone. It also contributes to faster file transfers and better power efficiency, which ultimately helps improve battery life.
Overall, the combination of the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Turbo chipset and UFS 3.1 storage makes the Vivo T5x a reliable performer for daily use. It may not be the best gaming phone for BGMI enthusiasts, but for everyday users and casual gamers, it delivers a smooth and dependable experience.
Vivo T5x Software and UI
The Vivo T5x runs on Android 16 based on Origin OS 6. The UI looks cleaner than previous versions and offers a modern design.

You can customise app icons, widgets, wallpapers, system themes, and the home screen according to your preference. During my usage, the software experience was smooth, and I did not notice any major lag while navigating through the interface or switching between apps.

However, just like other Vivo smartphones, the phone comes with a lot of pre-installed bloatware. Apps like Amazon, Netflix, Spotify, Blockbuster, and several Vivo apps are already installed out of the box.

The good thing is that most of these apps can be uninstalled or disabled if you don’t need them, making the overall experience much cleaner.

Vivo has also added several AI-powered features to improve daily usability. You get AI Erase for removing unwanted objects from photos, AI Photo Enhance for improving image quality, AI Screen Translation, Circle to Search, and AI Live Text to quickly extract text from images.

These features work well for everyday tasks and are useful additions, although they are not something you will use every day. Overall, the software experience is smooth, feature-rich, and backed by some genuinely useful AI tools.
The Vivo T5x is a smartphone that focuses more on practicality than flashy features. Instead of offering an AMOLED display or gaming-centric performance, Vivo has prioritised a powerful chipset, UFS 3.1 storage, excellent battery life, and premium durability with IP68/IP69 ratings. During my Vivo T5x review, I found the phone to be smooth in daily usage, reliable for casual gaming, and capable of lasting close to two days on a single charge.
If your priority is battery backup, dependable performance, and a durable smartphone, the Vivo T5x is definitely worth considering. However, if you mainly want an AMOLED display or the best BGMI gaming experience, there are better alternatives available in this price segment.
