Airtel has begun offering 5G services in India. Airtel 5G Plus service is now being rolled out in eight cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Siliguri, Hyderabad, Nagpur, and Varanasi.

Airtel stated that it is launching 5G services in these locations in stages, which implies that, for the time being, only select users would get 5G connectivity in their 5G-enabled handsets. However, the corporation stated that the pan-India 5G rollout will be finished by March 2024.

Not all 5G-enabled handsets in eligible cities will be able to use Airtel’s 5G service at this time. To use Airtel 5G, OEMs must first deploy OTA updates to the phone for it to run the 5G network smoothly. According to the telecom operator, it is also working with OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to offer Apple products 5G network capabilities.
